The summer has been pretty quiet for Amy Black and the Red Clay Rascals. Several of our band members (Andy and Bob, along with my sister Corrie) have been keeping busy with their bluegrass band, The Goodtime Stringband. In fact, they are in the process of filming a movie this week with Brooke Shields and Brendan Fraiser. Very cool!
The RCRs are gearing up for the fall and have got a few shows coming up that I hope to see you at. First, on August 30, we will be in Boston for a FREE show. This is a part of the SOWA Sundays series in the South End. So, if you are a Bostoncentric person (I know a few of you) and you’ve been waiting for me to come closer to you to see a show, now is your chance. AND you don’t even have to pay…but tips would be great, because we aren’t getting paid either! : )
And not only is there music, but there’s a arts and crafts sale. I’m not talking potholders and popsicle sticks, but real artists from the South End. There’s also some good food, including a full produce market. I went last year and it was a ton of fun.
I still need to confirm the time, but it will be after 12Â (could be 12-2 or 1-3)and we will play for two hours. I will send an update when I know for sure.
You can read more about SOWA Sunday’s here at http://sowasundays.com
The next show is the Bull Run in Shirley, Mass. on Friday, September 18. I absolutely love playing this venue. We’ve had such a great time here the past two shows and are looking to do the same with this third one. Tickets are the same as last time $12 in advance and $15 on the day of (whether you call or get them at the door).
For tickets, just call the Bull Run and order them over the phone. The number is 877-536-7190. You can also visit their website for more information. As I’m writing this, my show isn’t posted yet, but it will be soon!
In the meantime, there is so much great summer music out there. I hope you have a few outdoor concerts on the calendar for the rest of July and August!
All the best,
Amy
